MÖBI
WEBSITE AND EXHIBITION
A MOBIUS STRIP IS CONTINUOUS, AND IT HAS NO CLEAR BEGINNING OR END.
This website, MÖBi, is a collective effort of the cohorts and instructor of Web Projects. A running thread throughout our work this semester is the idea of a möbius strip, a surface that can be constructed by affixing the ends of a rectangular strip after first having given one of the ends a one-half twist.
Navigating the second half of our grad school semester at Rutgers, we, as a collective, have explored the idea that our work, the paths we take, and the way we walk through the world might mimic a möbius strip. We decided to dive into our photo archives and each select photos that called to us, and the idea of journeying. This culminated in our website, MÖBi, where we each drew from a compilation of our photo archives to create intersections that are visually and emotionally meaningful to us and code this endless scroll of archived images.
This work was exhibited at Co-Curate in the Mason Gross Gallery October 2023. Designed in collaboration with Melisa Tekin, Zameria Tennie, Rachel Herring and Bryce Wilner.
